Frequently asked questions

New to Sport Climbing? We would like to help you understand this sport and get you started!

Indoor rock climbing is really fun for both kids and adults. We have easy walls for kids to have lots of fun and really challenging walls for adults to get challenged!

If you are interested in organizing a birthday party, please have a look at our Party Packages. We also conduct climbing classes for those who wants to excel in sport climbing and some day scale the walls in the Blue Mountains. For more information about climbing class, please have a look at our Training Courses.

How safe is indoor rock climbing?

Probably safer than you think! A German study published in Wilderness Environmental Medicine suggests indoor rock climbing has a lower injury rate than badminton, surfing or most contact sports. Modern indoor climbing gyms have many safety measures which make it one of the safest sports.

On that note, sport climbing is still an Inherently Dangerous activity if proper safety methods are not followed.

Do I need to make a booking?

No, just turn up during our opening hours. However, if you have more than 20 people in your group, please let us know so we can accommodate you.

What do I wear?
What you would wear to a gym workout – loose, comfortable clothing and sports shoes are fine.

Do I need someone to climb with?
If it’s your first time, it’s best to come with a partner. That way, one person can belay (hold the rope) while the other person climbs.

We also have a bouldering wall which is a smaller wall without ropes that does not require a climbing partner. For bouldering, the entry fee is only $12 per person.

What are your opening hours?
We are open from 530pm to 930pm on Mondays, 1pm to 930pm from Tuesdays to Fridays and 11am to 7pm on Saturdays & Sundays.

What are your busiest times?
We are usually quiet between 3pm – 6pm on most weekdays. It gets slightly busy after 6pm. Quiet nights will be on Thursdays and Friday. If you want to have the whole gym nearly to yourself, come right in on a FRIDAY and get some hard climbing done.

Can my child try climbing, what’s the minimum age?

As long as they can fit into a harness, they can climb. However, kids must be at least 12 years old to belay (hold the rope while another person climbs). If your child is below 12 years old, he/she can climb with you holding the ropes, but he would not be able to hold the rope while you climb.

Kids (5 years and under) may find the climbs at our center too difficult for them.

We would also advice that you do not bring toddlers (3 years and under) into the climbing facilities as they can pose a danger to themselves and other climbers should they run around the center.

Can I come and climb if I am 16 years old and under?

Yes you can, just simply download this Individual Waiver form and have it completed before you enter into the climbing center.

How long can I climb at the gym?
After paying for entry, you can stay as long as you want until closing time.
